Huawei’s next smartwatch will be called the Huawei Watch GT and boast two weeks of battery life and serious sport smarts – if a pair of new reports are to be believed.

And after MySmartPrice uncovered an FCC filing for the Huawei Watch GT, Israeli site Wisebuy has come up with a bunch of specs and details.

The Huawei Watch GT will apparently boast a round 1.4-inch AMOLED screen with an impressive 454 x 454 resolution – according to the report. It should run Wear OS – but there’s no implicit mention of it in the leak.

It’s set to be a chunky beast, with a 46.5mm case and 10.4mm thick – which puts it up into Garmin Fenix 5 territory of size, and doesn’t sound like it’s one for small wrists. For context, Apple just upped the Apple Watch to 44mm for the biggest version.

But with great size comes great longevity – and the Huawei Watch GT is said to last 14 days of continuous smartwatch use, or seven days with the screen always on. GPS tracking will get you 20 hours, according to the report, which is pretty impressive, too. Pretty much no Wear watch can go last that long.

The Huawei Watch GT is set to be big on sport, and the specs check out here as well. It comes with an optical heart rate monitor and GPS, which should be music to the ears of runners and cyclists. What’s more, Firstbeat (the company behind Garmin’s advanced biometric algorithms) is said to be involved for a smart running coach – presumably based on heart rate and VO2 Max, which underpins the company’s technology.

It’s also supposed to be water resistant and swim-proof – with users able to track sessions in the pool. What’s more, sleep tracking has been overhauled thanks to Huawei TruSleep.

As revealed recently, the wearable will come equipped with a 410mAh battery. This will be sufficient for up to 14 days of continuous use, or 7 days with Always On Mode activated. If the GPS is turned on, though, this figure drops drastically to just 20 hours.

And we even got a release date and price. According to the Wisebuy report, the Huawei Watch GT will ship for $275 and appear alongside the new Huawei Mate 20 at the end of October.

Of course, this is still unconfirmed – but we’ll bring you firm news as soon as Huawei unveils its next smartwatch.
